Karachi Traffic Police to Introduce Road Safety Officer Units on Major Roads
The Karachi Traffic Police has announced plans to establish a dedicated Road Safety Officer Unit as part of efforts to improve traffic management, road safety, and public assistance across the city.
According to officials, Road Safety Officers will be deployed on several major roads, including Shahrah-e-Faisal, Mauripur Road, Korangi Road, and Shahrah-e-Liaquat.
The officers will assist commuters by providing traffic guidance, sharing information about alternative routes, and helping motorists navigate traffic-related challenges. The initiative is also aimed at improving traffic flow on some of the city’s busiest corridors.
Traffic authorities stated that the new unit will serve as an additional point of contact for road users, helping strengthen communication between the public and traffic management officials.
In addition to traffic assistance, Road Safety Officers will play a role in promoting awareness of traffic regulations, safe driving practices, and road safety measures. Officials believe these efforts can contribute to a safer and more organized transportation environment.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts by the traffic police to enhance public services, improve commuter experiences, and encourage responsible road use across Karachi.
