KP Closes Schools, Colleges and Universities in Flood-Prone Areas

KP Government Announces Temporary Closure of Universities and Colleges

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced a temporary closure of higher education institutions in several districts as a precautionary measure.

According to a notification issued by the Higher Education Department (HED), all universities and colleges in Swat, Buner, Mansehra, Chitral, and other upper districts will remain closed from August 19 to August 25.

During this period, online classes will continue to ensure that the academic schedule is not affected.

The official statement explained that the decision was taken in light of weather forecasts indicating the possibility of further rain and related challenges in vulnerable areas.

It is worth noting that earlier, the provincial Education Department had also announced a week-long holiday for schools under similar precautionary steps.
