The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation (SACF) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cricket development in Saudi Arabia, including plans to build a modern international-standard cricket stadium in Jeddah.

The agreement was signed by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and SACF Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud during a ceremony held on Thursday.

International-Standard Cricket Stadium Planned

As part of the partnership, both cricket boards will work together to develop world-class cricket infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.

The proposed stadium in Jeddah is expected to meet international standards, making it suitable for hosting global cricket tournaments and major international matches.

The collaboration will also focus on improving operational standards and supporting the long-term growth of cricket across the Kingdom.

PCB Pledges Support for Cricket Development

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the board is committed to supporting the expansion of cricket in Saudi Arabia.

He noted that the partnership reflects the strong relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia while creating new opportunities for the sport’s development in the region.

Focus Beyond Stadium Construction

Saudi Arabia Cricket Federation Chairman Prince Saud bin Mishal Al Saud described the agreement as a significant step for cricket in the country.

He said the partnership extends beyond building a stadium and includes broader efforts to develop the game through infrastructure, training, and long-term planning.

Growing Cricket Cooperation

The latest agreement builds on discussions held in December 2024, when Mohsin Naqvi visited Saudi Arabia and offered Pakistan’s support in developing cricket facilities and promoting the sport.

During that visit, Naqvi also proposed a player exchange programme, under which emerging Saudi cricketers could receive professional training in Pakistan to help strengthen the country’s cricket structure.
