Pakistan Women Exit T20I Tri-Series After Rain Washout Against West Indies

The Pakistan women’s cricket team have been eliminated from the Ireland-hosted T20I tri-series after their match against West Indies was abandoned due to rain at Castle Avenue.

The result confirmed that Pakistan will finish at the bottom of the points table, with only two points from three matches.

Tournament Outcome

Even if Pakistan win their final match against Ireland, they will only reach a maximum of six points, which is not enough to qualify for the final.

The rain-affected result also kept Ireland in contention for the tri-series title, with their upcoming match against Pakistan now crucial for the standings.

Match Summary

The game faced multiple rain interruptions, including a delayed start of around 70 minutes. Despite efforts from ground staff to prepare the pitch, weather conditions continued to disrupt play.

West Indies captain Chinelle Henry won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Pakistan reached 111/7 in 16.5 overs before further rain halted the match, which was eventually abandoned.

Pakistan Batting Performance

Aliya Riaz was the top scorer for Pakistan with 24 runs, while captain Fatima Sana remained unbeaten on 21.

Rameen Shamim and Ayesha Zafar contributed 17 runs each, while Gull Feroza added 10 runs. No other batter reached double figures.

Bowling Highlights

For West Indies, Ashmini Munisar and Chinelle Henry took two wickets each, while Zaida James, Afy Fletcher, and Qiana Joseph picked up one wicket apiece.

The rain-affected result ultimately ended Pakistan’s chances of reaching the final of the tri-series.
