Pakistani Rupee Edges Higher Against US Dollar, Weakens Against Major Global Currencies
The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) posted another modest gain against the US Dollar (USD) on Monday, extending its positive trend in the interbank market.
According to the latest exchange rates, the rupee closed at PKR 277.86 per US Dollar, improving by one paisa compared to the previous trading session.
The local currency has now recorded gains against the US Dollar for 206 consecutive trading days, continuing the upward trend that began in late December 2025.
PKR Remains Stable Against Gulf Currencies
The Pakistani Rupee remained largely unchanged against the UAE Dirham (AED) and the Saudi Riyal (SAR) during the day’s trading.
These currencies showed minimal movement against the rupee.
Performance Against Other Major Currencies
While the rupee strengthened slightly against the US Dollar, it recorded mixed performance against several other international currencies.
- Euro (EUR): The rupee weakened by 29 paisas.
- British Pound (GBP): The rupee declined by 7 paisas.
- Australian Dollar (AUD): The rupee lost 46 paisas.
- Canadian Dollar (CAD): The rupee gained 23 paisas.
- Chinese Yuan (CNY) and Malaysian Ringgit (MYR): The rupee recorded minor declines.
