PCB Appoints Usama Shahroon as Acting Director of Domestic Cricket

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former cricketer Usama Shahroon as the acting Director of Domestic Cricket, effective immediately.
Shahroon, who currently works as the PCB’s Senior General Manager for Domestic Cricket Operations, will handle the additional responsibility alongside his existing position.
The Director of Domestic Cricket post had been vacant since April 2026, following the completion of Abdullah Khurram Niazi’s two-year deputation. Niazi subsequently joined the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
Shahroon has been involved in managing the PCB’s domestic cricket operations and contributed to the planning and implementation of the revamped 2026-27 domestic cricket calendar.
His appointment comes as the PCB continues to operate its updated domestic cricket structure, which includes more than 40 departments from across Pakistan. The departments are divided into Grade-I, Grade-II and the newly introduced Grade-III categories.
Before joining cricket administration, Shahroon played as a fast-bowling all-rounder. He made his first-class debut in 2007 and appeared in six professional matches, including a T20 game for Rawalpindi Rams in 2009.
The PCB has not yet announced a permanent appointment for the Director of Domestic Cricket position, leaving Shahroon to oversee the department in an acting capacity.
