PMD Forecast: Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Northern Areas

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms in several northern and upper regions of the country, while most plain areas are likely to remain hot and dry.

According to the PMD, weather conditions across much of Pakistan will stay hot and dry. However, parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may receive rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.

Rainfall Expected in Selected Areas

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain with thunderstorms is expected in areas including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, and Malakand. Similar conditions may also occur in Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.

The department added that some plain districts, including Charsadda and Mardan, may experience rain along with strong winds in certain locations.

Scattered rainfall is also likely in Haripur, Waziristan, and Kurram, where weather conditions may become more pleasant due to the showers.

Conditions in Other Regions

Islamabad and other major plain areas are expected to remain hot and dry, with high temperatures likely to continue over the coming days.

Authorities advise citizens in affected regions to stay updated with weather alerts, especially in areas where thunderstorms and strong winds are possible.
