PMD Forecasts Light to Moderate Rain in Karachi on August 1–2

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in Karachi from the evening of August 1 through August 2.

According to the PMD, a weather system that developed over the Bay of Bengal has moved over Madhya Pradesh, India, and is expected to gradually weaken over the next one to two days.

The department said moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal continue to influence Pakistan’s upper and central regions, while a western weather system is also affecting the country’s northern areas.

As a result, intermittent rain is expected in several parts of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Sanghar, and Hyderabad, from the evening or night of July 31 until August 2.

For Karachi, the PMD expects light to moderate showers between the evening of August 1 and August 2.

However, the weather department clarified that heavy rainfall is not expected in Karachi under the current weather system, although residents are advised to stay updated with the latest forecasts as weather conditions may change.
