Police Continue Investigation Into Acid Attack on Quetta Doctor

Authorities in Quetta are continuing their investigation into the acid attack on a doctor at Civil Hospital Quetta, as officials work to determine the motive behind the incident.

Dr. Mahnoor Nasir was attacked while performing her duties at the hospital on Saturday. Following the incident, the Balochistan government arranged for her transfer to a specialized medical facility in Karachi to receive advanced treatment.

Police have registered a case and are gathering information from hospital staff, witnesses, and individuals who may have knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the attack. Investigators say they are examining all possible aspects of the case.

A senior police official stated that efforts are underway to identify any individuals who may have been involved and to establish the facts surrounding the incident.

Government officials have also expressed support for the injured doctor and her family. Balochistan Chief Minister visited the hospital to review her condition and assured that all necessary assistance would be provided for her treatment and recovery.

Separately, Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail contacted Dr. Nasir’s family and offered support, including arrangements for specialized medical care if required. Officials said the provincial government is covering all treatment-related expenses.

The incident has sparked discussions about workplace safety for healthcare professionals. Medical staff and professional organizations have called for enhanced security measures at public healthcare facilities to help protect doctors and healthcare workers.

Meanwhile, members of the Young Doctors Association continued their protest in Quetta, urging authorities to strengthen security arrangements in government hospitals. The association has also called for measures aimed at ensuring a safer working environment for medical personnel.

Officials have reiterated their commitment to completing the investigation and taking appropriate action based on its findings.
