Punjab Introduces New Traffic Warden System in Five Major Cities
The Punjab Traffic Police has launched a new Traffic Warden System in five major cities as part of efforts to improve traffic management and enhance services for road users.
According to officials, the first phase of the initiative has been introduced in:
- Lahore
- Rawalpindi
- Faisalabad
- Multan
- Gujranwala
Focus on Modern Traffic Management
The new system is intended to strengthen traffic operations by improving efficiency, organization, and the delivery of public services.
Punjab Traffic Police said the initiative will support the use of modern technologies and updated management practices to improve traffic flow and road safety.
Recruitment of Skilled Professionals
As part of the new system, the department has recruited professionals from various fields, including:
- Doctors
- Engineers
- Information Technology (IT) specialists
- Other technical professionals
Officials said the expertise of these professionals will help support traffic management, planning, and the implementation of technology-based solutions.
Tribute to Traffic Police Personnel
Punjab Traffic Police Chief Muhammad Waqas Nazir paid tribute to officers who lost their lives while performing their duties over the past two decades.
He said the department remains committed to honoring the service and sacrifices of its personnel.
Nazir also acknowledged the contributions of injured and retired traffic officers, describing them as an important part of the organization and recognizing their continued role in the department’s development.
