Pakistan Football Set for Major Revival Under Plan to Build 100 New Stadiums
The Pakistan Football League (PFL) has entered into a landmark partnership with Dream Sports Group to significantly improve football infrastructure across Pakistan, marking a major step toward reviving the sport at the national level.
The agreement focuses on addressing one of the biggest challenges in Pakistani football: the shortage of FIFA-standard stadiums and modern training facilities.
Plan for 100 New Football Grounds by 2028
Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to construct 100 new sports grounds across Pakistan by 2028. These facilities aim to provide better playing conditions and support the long-term growth of football in the country.
The project will also include the development of modern football academies to create structured pathways for young and emerging players at the grassroots level.
Focus on Youth Development and Infrastructure
Officials said the initiative is designed not only to improve infrastructure but also to strengthen youth development programs and provide aspiring players with professional training environments.
The academies are expected to play a key role in identifying and nurturing football talent from across the country.
Leadership Views on Football Revival
Farhan Ahmed Junejo, Chairman of the Pakistan Football League, welcomed the partnership and said the revival of football in Pakistan is now becoming a realistic goal.
He noted that the lack of proper stadiums has been one of the main reasons for delays in launching the league since 2024.
According to him, the new collaboration aims to resolve these long-standing infrastructure challenges and create opportunities for young players to represent Pakistan at national and international levels.
“Building Dreams, Not Just Stadiums”
Qaiser Baryar, Chairman of Dream Sports Group, described the initiative as a “game changer” for football in Pakistan.
He emphasized that the project goes beyond infrastructure development and aims to create opportunities for young athletes while reviving national interest in football.
“This is not just about building stadiums, but about building dreams,” he said.
Future Plans and Developments
The Pakistan Football League also announced that new leadership appointments will be revealed in the coming weeks. The league is expected to introduce further developments aimed at aligning with international standards and attracting global expertise.
