Punjab Launches New Urdu Textbook for 11th Grade Under Revised Curriculum

The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) has officially released a new Urdu textbook for 11th grade as part of the recently updated syllabus introduced for the 2025 academic session. The revised curriculum is aligned with the educational reforms led by the Punjab Education Curriculum and Assessment Authority (PECAA) and includes updates across multiple subjects.


Subjects Revised Under New Syllabus

Alongside Urdu, the new curriculum includes changes to:

  • English

  • Islamic Studies

  • Chemistry

  • Physics

  • Mathematics

  • Biology

  • Computer Science

Students in 9th and 11th grades will now follow this refreshed syllabus, designed to enhance comprehension and align with modern learning standards.


Details of the New Urdu Textbook

The new Urdu textbook for Class 11 has been authored by a distinguished team of educators:

  • Dr. Khawar Nawazish

  • Tariq Habib

  • Professor Zafar-ul-Haq Chishti

  • Tahir Siddiqui

  • Hannan Mahmood

A total of 27,000 copies have been printed by the PCTB, each priced at Rs. 151, ensuring affordability for students and schools.


Supportive Guidebook for Students

To assist students in understanding the new content, Professor Naseer Bashir from Dial Singh College has published a companion guide titled “Gohar Urdu”. This guidebook fully complies with the new curriculum and is aimed at simplifying key concepts for better academic performance.
