Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service Partially Suspended for Chehlum Processions

Rawalpindi/Islamabad, August 15, 2025 – The Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi has been partially suspended today (Friday) to ensure security during Chehlum processions.

According to the Metro Bus administration, operations between Saddar Station and Faizabad have been halted following instructions from the district administration. The move aims to facilitate safe and smooth movement of processions marking the Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala.

Service Updates

  • Rawalpindi Section: Suspended between Saddar and Faizabad for the day

  • Islamabad Section: Running as usual from IJP to Pak Secretariat

Commuters who usually travel on the Rawalpindi section are advised to use alternative transport arrangements today.

Officials emphasized that the decision is part of a comprehensive security plan for the twin cities, ensuring both public safety and minimal disruption to the Chehlum processions.

The Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions is being observed across Pakistan with solemnity and respect.
