Here’s how to help people affected by the devastating floods in Punjab

Punjab Floods 2025: Over 1.5 Million Affected, Relief Efforts Underway

Punjab, Pakistan – September 3, 2025

Punjab is facing its worst floods in four decades, leaving more than 1.5 million people affected as the mighty Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers overflow. According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), nearly 200 people have lost their lives, while over 600 have been injured.

The national death toll from this year’s monsoon season has now climbed to 829 since June, highlighting the devastating scale of the disaster.

One of the most striking images of the floods came from Kartarpur, where the historic Gurdwara Darbar Sahib was submerged, with its entire first floor under water. Officials warn that floodwaters are expected to reach Sindh between September 2 and 3, potentially impacting another 1.65 million people.
