Juliana Hutchens Crowned MVP at WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY: USA’s young star Juliana Hutchens has been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the WBSC U-18 Women’s Softball World Cup 2025, capping off a stunning tournament performance that lit up the competition.

The announcement was made during the closing ceremony, where the full list of individual awards and the prestigious All-World Team was unveiled.

Hutchens Dominates with Bat in Hand

Hutchens was unstoppable at the plate, finishing the event as the offensive leader in:

  • Batting average: .778

  • RBIs: 8

  • Home runs: 2

Speaking after the win, Hutchens credited her teammates for her confidence and success:

“We have a great team behind me, so you can go out there and play with all the confidence in the world. It’s just an honor to be able to play and then put up those numbers.”

Japan’s Rising Stars Shine

While Hutchens took the top honor, Japan’s Shion Yamamoto stood out as the tournament’s best pitcher, winning both ERA leader (0.44) and most wins (3) awards.

Her teammate Mayuha Ishikawa led in stolen bases (5), while USA’s Aspen Boulware topped the runs chart with 9.

WBSC All-World Team 2025

The official All-World Team featured standout players from five different nations, showcasing the global talent on display:

  • C: Yumeka Kagen (JPN)

  • 1B: Karina Rodriguez (MEX)

With USA, Japan, Mexico, Chinese Taipei, and China all represented in the All-World Team, the 2025 edition once again proved to be a showcase of future softball superstars.
