Pakistan Announce Squad for Bangladesh Test Series, Sarfaraz Ahmed Appointed Head Coach
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-member squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh national cricket team, scheduled to be played in May as part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle.
Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed as head coach for the tour, marking a key change in the team management structure for the series.
Series Schedule
The two-Test series will be played in Dhaka and Sylhet. The first Test is scheduled from May 8 to May 12 in Dhaka, while the second Test will take place from May 16 to May 20 in Sylhet.
Squad Highlights
The squad includes a mix of experienced players and new talent, with four uncapped players named in the lineup. Shan Masood will continue as captain of the national side.
Selected uncapped players include Abdullah Fazal, Amad Butt, Azan Awais, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori.
Several players are currently attending a training camp at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore ahead of the series.
Team Management
Alongside Sarfaraz Ahmed as head coach, former cricketers Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul have been appointed as batting and bowling coaches respectively.
Other support staff members include specialists in fitness, analysis, and medical support to assist the team during the tour.
