Parents Urged to Ensure Timely Vaccination of Children in Islamabad
Health authorities in Pakistan have urged parents to ensure timely vaccination of their children as the country marks World Immunisation Week 2026.
The observance is being led by the Federal Directorate of Immunisation under the Ministry of National Health Services, in coordination with provincial Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) teams and international partners.
This year’s global theme, “For Every Generation, Vaccines Work,” highlights the importance of vaccines in preventing disease and protecting communities across all age groups.
Officials emphasized that routine immunisation remains a key public health priority, helping protect children against multiple vaccine-preventable diseases.
According to health experts, vaccination plays a critical role in reducing the spread of infectious diseases and strengthening community immunity. Parents have been encouraged to ensure that children receive all recommended vaccines on schedule.
Authorities also noted that efforts are ongoing to reach children who have missed routine immunisations, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
The campaign is being supported through awareness activities across digital platforms and electronic media to improve outreach and public engagement.
Health officials reiterated that improving vaccination coverage is essential for long-term public health goals, including ongoing efforts to eliminate preventable diseases.
International partners such as the World Health Organization and UNICEF are also supporting Pakistan’s immunisation programs through technical assistance and awareness initiatives.
