Pakistan Navy Receives First Hangor-Class Submarine in Karachi

The Pakistan Navy has welcomed the arrival of its first Hangor-class submarine, PNS/M Hangor, at the Karachi Dockyard during a reception ceremony attended by senior naval officials.

According to the Pakistan Navy, the submarine is equipped with advanced combat systems, modern sensors, Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) technology, and enhanced stealth features designed to support maritime operations.

Naval authorities described the induction of PNS/M Hangor as an important step in the ongoing modernization of the fleet and a significant development in defense cooperation between Pakistan and China.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Pakistan Navy on the arrival of the submarine, stating that the project would contribute to strengthening the country’s maritime security capabilities and support the protection of national interests at sea.

He also termed the Hangor-class submarine program a key milestone in Pakistan’s broader efforts to enhance defense capabilities and expand technical expertise in the sector.

The arrival of PNS/M Hangor marks a notable addition to the Pakistan Navy’s fleet as it continues to modernize its maritime defense infrastructure.
