Route Announced for 2026 Tour of Britain Cycling Race

The host locations for the 2026 Tour of Britain men’s cycling race have officially been announced, outlining a five-stage route across England and Scotland.

The race will begin in Lincolnshire on 2 September, with the first two stages taking place in the region. The opening stage will start and finish in Lincoln, followed by a coastal route between Boston and Skegness for stage two.

From there, the competition will move north to East Yorkshire, including Hull and Beverley, before heading into North Yorkshire for stage four, which will start in Helmsley and finish in Leyburn.

The final stage will cross into Scotland for the first time in this edition, with the race concluding in the Scottish Borders town of Earlston on 6 September.

Organisers said the 2026 route has been designed to showcase scenic and challenging terrain across multiple regions, highlighting both coastal and inland landscapes.

British Cycling Ventures officials noted that the event is expected to attract top international riders and encourage greater public interest in cycling and active lifestyles.

Further details, including full stage maps and women’s race locations, are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
