Bahawal Victoria Hospital suspends five doctors after newborn’s arm injury; inquiry launched
BAHAWALPUR: The administration of Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) has suspended five doctors over alleged negligence following a delivery in which a newborn reportedly suffered an arm fracture.
According to a statement from the hospital administration, the action was taken after medical staff discovered that the newborn’s arm had been injured during childbirth.
The suspended staff include three female doctors, one senior registrar, and two postgraduate trainees.
Following the incident, the hospital’s medical superintendent has constituted a committee to investigate the matter. The committee has been directed to submit its findings within 24 hours.
