Punjab Launches 19 Free Sports Academies for Young Athletes
The Punjab government has launched 19 free Chief Minister Sports Academies in Lahore, introducing a new initiative aimed at promoting sports development among young people across the province.
The academies were inaugurated by Punjab Minister for Sports Faisal Ayub Khokhar during a ceremony attended by government officials, athletes, and their families.
Free Training for Youth
The program will provide year-round sports training for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 19. According to officials, more than 2,500 young athletes have already enrolled in the initiative.
The academies are designed to help participants develop their athletic skills through structured coaching programs and access to quality training facilities.

Focus on Talent Development
Speaking at the launch event, Faisal Ayub Khokhar said the initiative aims to identify and nurture talented young athletes by providing professional coaching and modern training opportunities.
Officials noted that experienced coaches and updated training methods will be used to support participants in reaching their full potential.
Expansion Planned Across Punjab
The first phase of the project has been launched in Lahore. Authorities plan to gradually expand the academies to district and divisional levels across Punjab, allowing more young athletes to benefit from the program.
Sports officials said the initiative is intended to encourage greater participation in sports, promote healthy lifestyles, and help develop future athletes who can represent Pakistan at national and international competitions.
