LAHORE: The inaugural CM Punjab Champions League 2026 is set to begin on August 3, with matches scheduled across four major cities of Punjab — Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan. The grand final of the tournament will be played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

The preparations for the tournament were reviewed during a high-level meeting chaired by Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi at the National Hockey Stadium Lahore. The meeting focused on administrative, technical, and logistical arrangements to ensure the successful organization of the league.

Officials from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Sports Punjab, and other relevant departments attended the meeting, while District Sports Officers from Multan, Bahawalpur, and Dera Ghazi Khan participated through a video link.

Muhammad Tariq Qureshi said that Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar will unveil the CM Punjab Champions League trophy on July 31, marking the official countdown to the tournament.

The Pakistan Cricket Board will provide professional match officials, including umpires, referees, and scorers, to maintain high standards throughout the competition.

The tournament will feature 12 men’s teams and four women’s teams, with all matches scheduled to be played under day-night conditions.

Sports Punjab officials expressed hope that the CM Punjab Champions League will provide a valuable platform for emerging cricketers and help promote competitive cricket across the province through a professionally managed tournament.
