PCB Revises Departmental Cricket Fee Structure and Player Salary Requirements

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a revised financial framework for departmental cricket, introducing higher annual registration fees for participating teams along with new minimum salary requirements for players.
Under the updated policy, Grade One departmental teams will be required to pay an annual fee of Rs. 15 million. For Grade Two, the annual fee has been fixed at Rs. 4.2 million for Gold-category teams and Rs. 4 million for Silver-category teams.
The revised fee structure marks a significant increase compared to previous years. The annual fee, which was once Rs. 3 million, was later raised to Rs. 5 million and has now been increased to Rs. 15 million for Grade One teams. Some departments have expressed concerns over the higher costs, noting that they already manage substantial operational and administrative expenses.
Alongside the revised fees, the PCB has introduced minimum salary standards for players across different grades.
According to the new guidelines:
- Grade One players must receive a minimum monthly salary of Rs. 125,000, equivalent to Rs. 1.5 million annually.
- Grade Two Gold players will receive at least Rs. 75,000 per month.
- Grade Two Silver players must be paid a minimum of Rs. 50,000 per month.
The PCB has also directed departments to offer players contracts with a minimum duration of one year, aiming to provide greater employment stability and improve transparency in player payments.
The updated financial regulations will apply to several domestic tournaments, including the President’s Trophy Grade One First-Class Tournament, the President’s Cup One-Day Tournament, and the President’s Trophy Grade Two Gold and Silver competitions.
Match fees have also been outlined under the new policy. Grade One players will receive Rs. 10,000 per match, while reserve players will earn Rs. 5,000. The daily allowance has been set at Rs. 5,000. In Grade Two competitions, players will receive a Rs. 5,000 match fee along with a daily allowance of Rs. 4,000.
The PCB has scheduled a meeting on June 29 to discuss the implementation of the revised departmental cricket policy and review its potential impact on participating departments.
