British wild card Arthur Fery has emerged as one of the standout performers at Wimbledon 2026, reaching the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.
The 23-year-old, who was born in France and raised in London, secured victories over Damir Dzumhur, Otto Virtanen, and Zizou Bergs to book a place in the last 16. He is now set to face Grigor Dimitrov in his next match.
Fery comes from a sporting family. His mother, Olivia, competed on the WTA Tour during the early 1990s, while his father, Loïc Fery, is the chairman of French football club FC Lorient.
After a successful junior career, during which he reached a world ranking of No. 12, Fery chose to continue his development at Stanford University in the United States. He studied Science, Technology, and Society and became the university’s first men’s singles player since Bob Bryan to earn the nation’s No. 1 collegiate ranking.
Fery turned professional in 2023 and has steadily climbed the rankings. His breakthrough came in 2025 when he earned his first Wimbledon main-draw victory by defeating Alexei Popyrin. He also claimed his first ATP Challenger singles title in Barranquilla and represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup.
His strong form has continued throughout the 2026 season. Earlier this year, he qualified for the Australian Open, recorded a notable first-round victory over Flavio Cobolli, reached the semi-finals of the Birmingham Open, and advanced to the quarter-finals at the HSBC Championships.
Currently coached by Benoit Foucher and Jeroen Benard, Fery is now on the verge of breaking into the world’s top 100 rankings for the first time, with his Wimbledon performance marking another important milestone in his professional career.
