Three More Militants Killed as Operation Shaban Continues in Balochistan

QUETTA: Security forces have killed three more militants during ongoing operations in Balochistan, bringing the number of militants killed in Operation Shaban to 88, according to security sources.

The operation is being carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police following the recent attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station in Ziarat.

Joint Operation Continues Across Balochistan

According to security sources, Operation Shaban includes both ground and aerial operations targeting militant hideouts in different parts of the province.

Officials said security forces successfully targeted several suspected militant locations during the latest phase of the operation.

Total Militant Death Toll Reaches 126 Since July 5

Security sources stated that a total of 126 militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted across Balochistan since July 5.

Authorities said the operations will continue as part of ongoing efforts to improve security and counter militant activities in the province.

Weapons and Ammunition Recovered

Earlier operations also resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of weapons and ammunition.

According to security officials, recovered items included:

  • Submachine guns
  • Rocket launchers
  • Mobile phones
  • Other operational equipment

Background of the Operation

Operation Shaban was launched after the deadly attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station in Ziarat earlier this month.

According to military officials, security personnel responded to the attack and engaged the militants before additional forces reached the area.

The attacks in Balochistan earlier this month resulted in the deaths of security personnel and civilians, highlighting ongoing security challenges in the province.

Continued Counterterrorism Efforts

Pakistan has experienced an increase in militant attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent years.

Security forces continue to conduct intelligence-based operations and targeted actions against militant groups as part of broader efforts to strengthen security and maintain stability in affected regions.

Authorities say counterterrorism operations will continue wherever necessary to address security threats and protect the public.
