Pakistan’s junior squash team has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Junior Squash Championships after defeating Canada in the pre-quarterfinal round in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada.
According to the Pakistan Squash Federation, Pakistan secured a convincing 2-0 victory to book a place among the top eight teams in the competition.
Nauman Khan Gives Pakistan Strong Start
Nauman Khan put Pakistan ahead with an impressive straight-games victory over Canada’s Colten McLaughlin.
Nauman dominated the match and won with scores of 11-5, 13-11, and 11-9, giving Pakistan an early advantage in the tie.
Abdullah Nawaz Seals Quarterfinal Spot
Pakistan’s second win came through Abdullah Nawaz, who produced a strong comeback against Calder Murray in a five-game battle.
After dropping the opening game, Abdullah regained control and secured victory with scores of 9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 6-11, and 11-3.
His win confirmed Pakistan’s place in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament.
Tough Challenge Ahead Against Egypt
Pakistan will now face defending champions Egypt in the quarterfinals scheduled for Thursday.
The national junior team will aim to continue its strong performance and secure a place in the semifinals of the prestigious international event.
