Islamabad’s E-11 Sector Records 150mm Rainfall, Water Accumulates on Roads

Islamabad’s E-11 sector received around 150 millimetres of rainfall within a short period on Monday, resulting in significant water accumulation on several roads and streets.

The heavy downpour placed pressure on the area’s drainage system, with sewer overflows contributing to the buildup of water on roads. Rainwater also entered some basements that had previously been sealed by the district administration.

Authorities have launched de-watering operations in affected areas under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad. Teams are working to clear accumulated water and restore normal conditions.

Meanwhile, rescue and response teams are also active in D-12/2 following the collapse of a protective wall. Officials said no loss of life or property had been reported in connection with the incident.

Water accumulation has also affected traffic movement on several major routes, including the Islamabad Expressway. Traffic police are assisting motorists and managing the flow of traffic in affected areas.

Residents have been advised to exercise caution while travelling through areas affected by rainwater and to follow instructions issued by local authorities.
