PCB Orders Review Into Imam-ul-Haq’s Injury During England Test

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly decided to conduct a detailed review of Imam-ul-Haq’s calf injury suffered during the second Test against England at Lord’s.
The 30-year-old Pakistan opener is also expected to return to Pakistan on the first available flight from London for further medical assessment.
Imam experienced discomfort in his calf on the opening day of the Test and was unable to bat in either innings. Pakistan eventually suffered a 194-run defeat, giving England a 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
According to reports, the PCB wants to determine the extent of Imam’s injury and review the circumstances surrounding his absence from Pakistan’s fourth-innings chase.
Questions Raised Over Injury
The injury attracted attention during the Test, with some media reports and former cricketers questioning its seriousness. However, these comments remain opinions and have not established that Imam’s injury was not genuine.
Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad also commented on the situation during his pre-match analysis on the fourth day.
Broad questioned Imam’s decision to appear in training wearing shorts and medical tape on his leg while walking with an apparent limp. He suggested that rehabilitation could have been carried out away from public view.
The comments added to the discussion surrounding the Pakistan opener’s condition.
