Motorway Police Introduces QR Code System for Reporting Traffic Violations
The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) has introduced a new system that allows passengers to report traffic violations and travel-related complaints through QR codes.
The initiative has been launched under the “Be Our Eyes” Awareness Campaign, which aims to improve passenger safety, make the complaint process easier and strengthen accountability on highways and motorways.
According to NHMP Central Region spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmad, QR code stickers have been placed on public transport vehicles and at their terminals.
How the QR Code System Works
Passengers can scan the QR code using their mobile phones and submit complaints directly to the Motorway Police.
The system can be used to report issues such as:
- Overloading of passengers
- Overcharging
- Unsafe or dangerous driving
- Misbehavior with passengers
- Other traffic-related violations
The NHMP said the digital complaint mechanism is designed to provide passengers with a simple and direct way to communicate their concerns to the relevant authorities.
Officials expect the system to help improve response times and strengthen monitoring of unsafe practices by drivers and transport operators.
Motorway Police Encourages Public Participation
Syed Imran Ahmad encouraged passengers to use the QR code system when they observe traffic violations or unsafe practices.
The Motorway Police said public cooperation can help authorities identify problems more quickly and take appropriate action.
Passengers can also contact the Motorway Police Helpline 130 for complaints, guidance and assistance during their journey.
The new reporting mechanism is part of wider efforts to promote safer travel and improve communication between passengers and highway authorities.
