Olympic Qualification at Stake
The 2026 African Nations Championship will have added importance because the tournament winner will earn an African quota place for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, subject to the applicable Olympic qualification rules.
The Olympic Games in Los Angeles are scheduled to take place from July 14 to 30, 2028.
The competition will also serve as an African qualification event for the 2027 FIVB Volleyball World Cup, giving participating teams another major target beyond the continental championship.
