Solar Lithium Battery Prices Fall in Lahore
The prices of lithium batteries used in solar power systems have declined significantly in Lahore, offering some relief to consumers planning to install or upgrade their solar setups.
According to market sources, lithium battery prices have dropped by around Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 100,000, with reductions reported across batteries used for on-grid, hybrid and off-grid solar systems.
A 5kW lithium battery, which was previously available for around Rs. 250,000, is now being sold for approximately Rs. 230,000. Meanwhile, the price of a 16kW lithium battery has fallen from about Rs. 750,000 to Rs. 650,000.
The reduction in battery prices comes as interest in battery-based solar systems continues to grow. Changes in Pakistan’s net metering policy have encouraged some consumers to consider off-grid and hybrid systems that can store solar electricity for use when needed.
At the same time, falling prices of solar panels and lithium batteries have helped increase interest in residential solar installations.
Lower battery costs could make solar systems more affordable for households looking to reduce their reliance on grid electricity. Lithium batteries can also allow solar users to store excess electricity generated during the day and use it later, particularly during periods when solar generation is unavailable.
