Trump Highlights 25 Claimed Achievements Ahead of US Midterm Elections
US President Donald Trump has released a list of 25 actions and policies that he describes as his major achievements, as the 2026 midterm elections approach.
In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump highlighted issues including immigration, the economy, trade, foreign policy and national security. The list forms part of his effort to promote his administration’s record ahead of the November elections.
Immigration and Border Policies
Trump said his administration had achieved what he called the most secure border in US history.
He claimed that no undocumented migrants had been admitted to the United States during the previous 16 months and highlighted reductions in refugee admissions from countries he described as dangerous.
The administration has also pursued an extensive immigration enforcement programme involving deportations and transfers of some migrants to third countries.
Trump additionally included making English the official language of the United States among the policies he highlighted.
Claims About Iran and Foreign Policy
Foreign policy was another major part of Trump’s list.
The president claimed that US military action had destroyed Iran’s nuclear enrichment capabilities and said the measures were intended to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
The conflict with Iran has had wider regional and economic consequences, with military operations involving the United States and Israel contributing to heightened tensions across the Middle East.
Trump had previously argued that action against Iran was necessary to address its nuclear programme, although his explanations for the military campaign have varied.
Tariffs and the US Economy
Trump also pointed to his administration’s tariff policies as an important part of his economic agenda.
He has argued that higher tariffs on trading partners can encourage companies to increase manufacturing inside the United States.
The president has repeatedly promoted tariffs as a tool for strengthening domestic production and protecting American industries.
The White House has separately highlighted tax cuts, manufacturing investment, energy production and other economic measures as major elements of Trump’s record.
Midterm Elections Add Political Significance
Trump’s announcement comes as the United States prepares for the November 2026 midterm elections, when voters will decide control of Congress.
The president’s list places immigration, economic policy, trade and foreign affairs at the centre of his administration’s message to voters.
Trump is using the record he outlined to make the case for his policies as the midterms approach, while Democrats and Republicans continue to campaign on different assessments of the administration’s performance.
The White House has also published its own detailed account of Trump’s policies and described them as major results of his second-term administration.
