Pakistan Rejects Reports of Damage to PAF JF-17 Jets in Saudi Arabia

Pakistan has rejected reports claiming that missiles or drones launched from Yemen damaged Pakistan Air Force (PAF) JF-17 fighter jets stationed at a Saudi Arabian air base.

The Ministry of Information said there is no credible or official report confirming any damage to Pakistani aircraft in Saudi Arabia.

Government Calls Reports Unverified

According to the ministry, social media posts claiming that PAF aircraft were damaged and later evacuated are false and fabricated.

The ministry also said that some social media accounts based in India were circulating the unverified claims.

Pakistan has deployed military personnel and equipment in Saudi Arabia under a defense cooperation agreement signed by the two countries in September 2025.

Drone Incident Reported in Taif

The reports emerged amid recent security incidents involving drones in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier this week, debris from a drone intercepted by Saudi air defenses reportedly fell in Taif. The incident resulted in the death of a Yemeni resident, while a Saudi woman and a Pakistani resident were injured. The Pakistani national was reported to be critically wounded.

Several buildings and vehicles were also reportedly damaged in the incident.

Saudi authorities had also announced the interception of another drone south of Makkah earlier this month.

However, there is no official confirmation linking either incident to any damage to Pakistan Air Force aircraft.

Pakistan has maintained that the reports regarding damage to its JF-17 fighter jets are not supported by any credible official evidence.
