Antonio Rüdiger Extends Real Madrid Contract for One More Season
Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger has signed a one-year contract extension with the Spanish club, keeping him at the Santiago Bernabéu for another season.
The 33-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2022 after leaving Chelsea and has now agreed to continue his stay despite interest from other clubs.
Rüdiger played an important role for Madrid in recent seasons, including winning both the Spanish league and the UEFA Champions League in 2024. However, the club has gone without a major trophy in the last two seasons and is expected to aim for improvement in the upcoming campaign.
Injuries affected Rüdiger’s availability last season, limiting him to 26 appearances across all competitions. Despite that, he remained an important part of the defensive squad rotation.
The extension comes while Rüdiger is on international duty with Germany at the World Cup. He featured as a substitute in Germany’s opening match, a 7-1 victory over Curaçao.
Real Madrid continues to undergo changes ahead of the new season, with squad adjustments and management decisions aimed at strengthening the team.
Rüdiger’s new deal ensures continuity in the club’s defensive options as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
