FIR Registered Against Five CCD Officials Over Alleged Kidnapping and Extortion Case

Muzaffargarh, July 6, 2026: Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against five officials of the Crime Control Department (CCD) over allegations of kidnapping two citizens and demanding ransom in Tehsil Jatoi, Muzaffargarh district.

The case is currently under investigation, while departmental action has also been initiated against the accused officials.

Allegations Against CCD Officials

According to the FIR, the incident allegedly took place on January 16, when a businessman involved in the second-hand clothing trade and his companion were reportedly taken from a local market.

The complainants allege that the two men were unlawfully detained at a private location for several days, where they were subjected to mental pressure and allegedly threatened with false criminal cases and other consequences.

Investigators are examining the allegations as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Ransom Claim Under Investigation

The FIR further states that the victims’ family members were allegedly pressured to arrange money for their release.

According to the complaint, the two individuals were released after an alleged payment of Rs1.2 million. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged ransom payment.

Three Officials Detained

According to the Crime Control Department, three of the accused officials have been taken into custody and suspended from service pending the outcome of the investigation.

The department has also launched an internal inquiry to determine the facts of the case and review the conduct of the officials involved.

Investigation Continues

Police officials say further investigations are underway, and legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the findings of the inquiry. Authorities have stated that appropriate action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation.
