Government Prepares Winter Gas Supply Management Plan
The government has started preparations to manage gas supplies during the upcoming winter season as demand is expected to increase.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant authorities to finalize a comprehensive gas load management plan and complete necessary arrangements ahead of the winter months.
A meeting chaired by the prime minister reviewed the measures being planned to maintain a stable gas supply during the period of higher seasonal demand.
Officials briefed the meeting on preparations aimed at managing gas consumption and ensuring that available supplies are used efficiently.
As part of the plan, the government intends to launch a public awareness campaign encouraging households to consider alternative energy sources instead of relying entirely on locally produced gas.
Authorities are also working to ensure the smooth transmission of gas from reserves located in the northern parts of the country.
Meanwhile, a proposal to facilitate bank financing for electric appliances used for water and space heating is also being considered. The initiative could encourage consumers to use electricity-based heating solutions during periods of high gas demand.
The government is expected to finalize further measures as part of its preparations for the winter gas management plan.
