Holly Willoughby Gets Emotional as Southport Families Documentary Wins at NTAs

Holly Willoughby became visibly emotional while presenting an award at the National Television Awards (NTAs), as a documentary focusing on the families affected by the Southport tragedy received a major honour.

The 45-year-old presenter announced that Our Girls: The Southport Families had won the award for Best Authored Documentary.

Emotional Moment at the NTAs

As the winner was announced, attention turned towards the families of the three young girls featured in the documentary.

The families joined members of the production team on stage to accept the award, while the audience at London’s O2 Arena responded with a standing ovation.

The BBC documentary follows the families of Alice da Silva Aguiar, Bebe King and Elsie Dot Stancombe, who lost their lives during the 2024 attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance event in Southport.

The programme explores the families’ experiences and the impact of the tragedy on their lives.

Holly Shares Heartfelt Reaction

Following the ceremony, Willoughby shared her reaction to the documentary and its success on Instagram.

She described receiving the opportunity to present the award as an honour while acknowledging the deeply painful circumstances surrounding the film.

The documentary faced competition from several notable productions, including projects involving former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson and documentaries focusing on Caroline Flack and Ozzy Osbourne.

Despite the strong competition, Our Girls: The Southport Families secured the Best Authored Documentary award.

Holly Willoughby Shares Moment With Husband

Before the awards ceremony, Willoughby also gave followers a glimpse of her personal life on social media.

The television presenter, who has increasingly expanded her work on YouTube, shared a clip featuring her husband, Dan Baldwin.

In the video, Willoughby praised Baldwin, who was dressed in a black suit, and shared a brief affectionate moment with him.

The social media post came shortly before Holly took to the stage at the NTAs, where her emotional presentation became one of the evening’s notable moments.
