Pakistan Captain Fatima Sana Sets Record with Fastest Women’s T20I Fifty
Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Fatima Sana delivered a record-breaking performance in Karachi, scoring the fastest half-century in women’s T20 international history during the third match against Zimbabwe.
Fatima reached her fifty in just 15 balls, breaking the previous joint record of 18 balls held by Sophie Devine, Phoebe Litchfield, and Richa Ghosh.
Explosive batting display
Batting in a dominant Pakistan innings, Fatima came to the crease when her team was already in a strong position. She quickly accelerated the scoring rate with powerful stroke play, hitting boundaries from the start and maintaining a rapid tempo throughout her innings.
She finished unbeaten on 62 runs from just 19 balls, including 10 fours and 2 sixes. Her aggressive batting helped Pakistan post a massive total of 223 for 4, one of their highest scores in women’s T20 internationals.
Strong team performance
Saira Jabeen also contributed with an unbeaten half-century, helping Pakistan build a challenging total for Zimbabwe.
In response, Zimbabwe struggled against Pakistan’s bowling attack and were dismissed for 90 runs, giving Pakistan a comprehensive victory and a strong series performance.
Fatima also made an impact with the ball, taking one wicket while conceding 28 runs.
