Pakistani Duo Usman Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem Join Perth Scorchers for Global Super League 2026
Pakistan cricketers Usman Khan and Sufiyan Muqeem have been named in the Perth Scorchers XI squad for the upcoming Global Super League (GSL) 2026, which will be held in Guyana from July 23 to August 1.
Both players have received No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), allowing them to participate in the international franchise tournament.
Pakistani Pair Strengthen Perth Scorchers Squad
Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan will provide additional batting depth and wicketkeeping options, while left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem is expected to strengthen the team’s spin attack.
Their inclusion adds valuable international experience to the Perth Scorchers squad ahead of the five-team competition.
Strong T20 Records
Usman Khan has become a regular member of Pakistan’s T20I squad since making his international debut in 2024. The right-handed batter has featured in 38 T20 Internationals and has delivered several important performances, including a half-century during Pakistan’s T20 series against Australia earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Sufiyan Muqeem has impressed with the ball in the shortest format of the game. The young spinner has claimed 27 wickets in 19 T20Is at an impressive average of 14.74, including outstanding bowling figures of 5 for 3 against Zimbabwe in 2024.

The Perth Scorchers XI will be captained by Ashton Turner and includes several experienced international cricketers, including:

Tournament Begins on July 23
Perth Scorchers qualified for the Global Super League 2026 after winning the previous Big Bash League title.
The tournament will be played at Providence Stadium, Guyana, and will feature five teams:
- Perth Scorchers XI
- Lahore Qalandars
- Guyana Amazon Warriors
- Desert Vipers
- San Francisco Unicorns
The event carries a total prize pool of US$1 million.
Perth Scorchers will begin their campaign against Lahore Qalandars on July 23, setting up an exciting opening match featuring several Pakistani stars.
