PEIRA sets June 30 deadline for private schools to submit scholarship data
Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority has directed all private schools in Islamabad to submit complete details of students enrolled under the mandatory 10% need-based scholarship quota by June 30.
According to an official statement, schools that fail to provide the required information within the deadline may face regulatory action. The authority also said that registration and renewal services for non-compliant institutions could be restricted until the data is submitted.
PEIRA added that the names of schools not complying with the requirement will be published on its official website and shared with relevant examination boards for further action.
The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by PEIRA Chairman Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah. The meeting discussed implementation of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2012, which requires private schools to reserve 10% of admissions for deserving and underprivileged students.
Officials noted that several schools have still not submitted the required scholarship information despite repeated reminders.
Dr. Mallah said students identified through ongoing enrollment drives will be prioritized under the scheme to improve access to education for out-of-school children.
