PSG Win Fifth Consecutive Ligue 1 Title After Victory Over Lens

Paris Saint-Germain F.C. secured their fifth straight Ligue 1 title after defeating RC Lens 2-0 on Wednesday.

The victory confirmed PSG as French champions once again with one match remaining in the season.

Kvaratskhelia and Mbaye Score for PSG

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring for PSG shortly before halftime with his 19th goal of the season.

Substitute Ibrahim Mbaye added a late second goal to seal the important away win.

The result gave PSG an unassailable lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Luis Enrique Praises Team Mentality

PSG manager Luis Enrique praised his team’s determination and defensive effort after the match.

He said the title was one of the toughest during his time at the club and highlighted the importance of balancing attacking and defensive performances throughout the season.

PSG Continue Domestic Dominance

The latest success marks PSG’s 14th French league title overall, with 12 of those championships coming during the club’s era under Qatari ownership.

The team has now matched one of the longest title-winning streaks in Ligue 1 history, following the dominance previously shown by Olympique Lyonnais in the 2000s.

More Trophies Still Possible

PSG have already won multiple trophies this season, including:

  • UEFA Super Cup
  • FIFA Intercontinental Cup
  • French Champions Trophy

The club is also preparing for the upcoming UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal F.C. later this month.

A victory in the final would make PSG one of the few teams in modern football history to win back-to-back European titles.

Lens Secure Champions League Spot

Despite the defeat, Lens are guaranteed to finish second in Ligue 1 and have qualified directly for next season’s UEFA Champions League league phase.
