CHITRAL: The much-anticipated Shandur Polo Festival 2025 begins today (Friday) at the world’s highest polo ground, located at an altitude of 10,300 feet above sea level. The three-day event will feature thrilling polo matches between traditional rivals Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), drawing thousands of local and international tourists to this scenic mountain destination.

Tourists have already begun arriving in large numbers, traveling approximately 156 kilometers from Chitral city—a journey that takes about five to six hours via the Chitral-Booni Road. The route is currently witnessing heavy traffic as excitement builds ahead of the main matches.
