PEC Concludes 2nd Generative AI Course, Plans to Train 45,000 Engineers

The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) successfully concluded the second cohort of its Generative AI course with a virtual and in-person ceremony held at the PEC Headquarters in Islamabad. The initiative marks a major step in integrating AI education into Pakistan’s engineering sector.


45,000 Engineers to Be Trained in Next Three Years

Speaking at the event, PEC Chairman Engr. Waseem Nazir announced an ambitious plan to train 45,000 engineers over the next three years. The goal is to empower Pakistan’s engineering professionals with modern AI skills and help drive the country’s digital transformation.

Engineers from across Pakistan joined the ceremony online, reaffirming their commitment to keeping pace with global technological trends. The initiative supports PEC’s broader vision of building AI capabilities across all engineering disciplines.


Over 1,000 Engineers Certified

From over 4,000 enrolled participants, 1,180 engineers successfully completed the free six-week online course and received certificates. The course provided hands-on knowledge of Generative AI, project development, and practical applications. Top 10 performers and three exceptional project teams were also honored during the event for their technical innovation and leadership.


Course Designed with Global Partners

The course was developed in partnership with:

  • Pak Angels Silicon Valley (USA)

  • Aspire Pakistan

  • iCodeGuru

It targeted engineers, academic faculty, students, and industry leaders. Graduates received internationally recognized certificates with traceable QR codes, enhancing their professional credentials.


Focus on Innovation and Commercialization

Hassan Syed, Chairperson of Aspire Pakistan, and M. Anwar Khan, Founder of Pak Angels, highlighted the need to connect AI training with real-world business opportunities. They emphasized the importance of innovation that supports economic growth and attracts both local and global investment into Pakistan’s growing tech ecosystem.
