Pakistan Extends Airspace Restrictions for Indian-Registered Aircraft
The Pakistan Airports Authority has officially extended the ongoing airspace restrictions for Indian-registered aircraft, continuing the suspension of overflights through Pakistani airspace.
✈️ Ban Applies to Civilian and Military Aircraft
As per the latest announcement, all aircraft operated by Indian airlines remain restricted from entering Pakistan’s airspace. This includes both civilian and military aircraft, as well as those leased or owned by Indian entities.
The updated restriction came into effect on July 18 and will remain in force until August 24, subject to further review by the relevant authorities.
🗓️ Effective Dates:
-
Start Date: July 18, 2025
-
End Date: August 24, 2025 (unless extended)
The Pakistan Airports Authority has advised all air operators and aviation stakeholders to stay updated on official NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) and comply with the revised airspace guidelines.
📍 Operational Impact
The continued restriction may affect some regional flight paths and scheduling, especially for routes typically using Pakistani airspace for transit. Aviation authorities on both sides are expected to monitor the situation closely.
