Multan Sultans Owner Reiterates Comments on Ball-Tampering Incident Involving Lahore Qalandars
The owner of Multan Sultans, Gohar Shah, has reiterated his earlier comments regarding a controversial incident involving Lahore Qalandars during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 11), while clarifying that his remarks were made as a spectator.
Speaking on a podcast, Shah stated that his comments were based on what he observed during the match and were not directed at players or team management. He also mentioned that his criticism was focused on general behaviour rather than individuals associated with the franchise.
Shah addressed the backlash he received on social media following his earlier post, clarifying that he had no involvement in any on-field decisions made by match officials.
The discussion relates to an incident during a PSL 11 match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, where on-field umpires reviewed the condition of the ball during the final stages of the game. Following the review, penalty runs were awarded and the ball was replaced in accordance with match regulations.
Subsequently, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took disciplinary action related to the incident, including a suspension for one of the players involved.
Shah stated that his reaction at the time was based on his perception of the game as a viewer and that he raised concerns publicly without any official role in the match process.
His earlier social media post, which was later deleted, received mixed reactions online, with criticism directed at his comments. Despite this, Shah maintained that his intention was only to express his viewpoint as a cricket follower.
The matter remains part of broader discussions surrounding on-field conduct and match regulations in PSL 11.
