Harris Shines as Pinch-Hitter as Braves Defeat Phillies 5-3

Atlanta Braves secured a 5–3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night, extending the Phillies’ losing streak to 10 games and continuing Atlanta’s strong run in the season.

Despite being a late scratch from the starting lineup due to a quadriceps issue, Michael Harris II made a significant impact as a pinch-hitter, delivering a crucial two-run double that helped turn the game in Atlanta’s favor.

The Braves had fallen behind 3–2 in the sixth inning when they loaded the bases with two outs. Harris was brought in as a substitute and responded immediately, hitting a 96 mph pitch into the outfield to bring in two runs and give Atlanta the lead.

Atlanta Braves also received a strong contribution from Ronald Acuña Jr., who hit a two-run home run earlier in the game.

For the Phillies, home runs from Trea Turner and Bryce Harper were not enough to prevent another defeat, as the team continued to struggle during a difficult stretch of the season.

The result strengthened Atlanta’s position at the top of the standings, while Philadelphia fell further behind in the division race.

The Braves have now won nine of their last ten games, maintaining one of the best records in Major League Baseball this season.
