PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi Receives Invitation for ICC Meeting and IPL Final
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has reportedly received invitations to attend the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 final in Ahmedabad, according to sources.
The invitations include participation in key ICC discussions along with attendance at the high-profile IPL final scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium later this month.
ICC meetings scheduled in May
Reports suggest that the ICC will hold several important meetings, including the Chief Executives Committee (CEC) meeting, which is expected to take place virtually on May 21. The main ICC Board meetings are scheduled for May 30 and 31 in Ahmedabad.
These meetings are expected to include discussions on the future of the World Test Championship (WTC) and other international cricket matters.
Decision pending from Pakistan leadership
According to sources, the PCB chairman has forwarded the invitation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who will make the final decision regarding his possible visit to India for the meetings and the IPL final.
The decision is expected to consider diplomatic relations as well as cricketing engagements between the two countries.
Context of the event
The ICC gatherings are part of its regular quarterly meetings, which were earlier scheduled to take place in Qatar but were postponed due to regional developments.
If approved, the PCB chairman’s visit would include participation in major cricket governance discussions as well as attendance at one of the biggest events in the global T20 calendar.
