Max Ojomoh Added to England Squad Ahead of France XV Clash

England have announced a 33-player squad for their upcoming non-cap match against a France XV in Vannes, with Bath centre Max Ojomoh earning a call-up ahead of Friday’s fixture.

Ojomoh, who impressed during England’s autumn campaign, returns to the national setup after being named Player of the Match on his second international appearance against Argentina in November. He could feature in midfield alongside Bristol Bears centre Benhard Janse van Rensburg.

Ojomoh Returns, Lawrence Misses Out

While Ojomoh has been included in the squad, Bath teammate Ollie Lawrence has not received a recall. The 26-year-old centre, who recovered from a serious Achilles injury earlier this season, continues to work his way back to top form.

Lawrence made only one appearance during England’s Six Nations campaign and has not been selected for this training group.

Gloucester’s Seb Atkinson is another midfield option, while Janse van Rensburg remains eligible for the uncapped fixture despite not yet qualifying for England in official Test matches.

New Faces and Returning Talent

Several players have an opportunity to impress England head coach Steve Borthwick ahead of future international fixtures.

Among the forwards, Bath’s Ted Hill returns to the squad after previously earning five England caps. Leicester Tigers prop Archie van der Flier receives his first senior England call-up.

Young Saracens winger Noah Caluori, one of the standout performers in the Premiership this season, could also feature alongside experienced backs Adam Radwan, Cadan Murley and Tom Roebuck.

Strong Leicester Presence

England’s squad includes several Leicester Tigers players, including second-row duo George Martin and Ollie Chessum. With England potentially managing the workload of captain Maro Itoje during the summer, strong performances from Martin and Chessum could strengthen their case for larger roles in upcoming internationals.

France XV Also Preparing

France’s squad for the fixture excludes players involved with Top 14 semi-finalists, but several talented internationals remain available.

Bordeaux centre Nicolas Depoortere could make his return after recovering from a shoulder injury suffered in March. He may partner fellow Bordeaux player Yoram Moefana in midfield.

Exciting winger Theo Attissogbe, who has already made a strong impression at international level, is also expected to feature.
