Punjab to Host Major Sports Event in October
The Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Department is preparing to organize a large-scale sports event in October, which is expected to bring together millions of students from educational institutions across the province.
According to officials, the event aims to promote sports activities among youth and encourage participation from both male and female students. A significant amount of prize money will be awarded to winning participants to support and motivate young athletes.
Punjab Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar announced the initiative while addressing a media briefing at the inauguration ceremony of the Youth Cricket Super League held at Nawab Town Cricket Stadium.
He said the government is focusing on expanding sports opportunities for young people through different programs and events across Punjab.
The Youth Cricket Super League features teams from various union councils, with several matches scheduled over multiple days. The event is part of ongoing efforts to promote grassroots sports development in the province.
Officials from the Sports Department, along with local organizers and sports enthusiasts, attended the opening ceremony.
The minister added that improving sports facilities and encouraging youth participation in healthy activities remain key priorities of the provincial government. He also highlighted that modern sports infrastructure is being developed in different areas to support future sporting events.
