ISLAMABAD: Pakistan made an impressive start to the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Volleyball Championship 2026, defeating Sri Lanka in straight sets during their opening match at the Liaquat Gymnasium, Pakistan Sports Complex.
Playing in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, Pakistan produced a commanding performance to secure a 25-16, 25-15, 25-18 victory and collect valuable points in the round-robin stage of the tournament.
Pakistan Control the Match
The hosts dominated throughout the contest with strong serving, powerful attacks, disciplined blocking, and excellent teamwork.
Sri Lanka struggled to cope with Pakistan’s pace and consistency as the home side maintained control in all three sets to complete the match without dropping a set.

Bangladesh also secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Uzbekistan in another closely contested encounter.
